The DSA lands

The Digital Services Act (DSA) has been in force since November 2022. The transparency reports on content moderation required by it have already been published by (some of the) addressed platforms and the Commission has designated the first "very large online platforms / search engines". However, full applicability of the DSA and relevant "deadlines" for key implementation obligations of Member States, for example in the area of supervision, are still ahead: February 17, 2024 marks the "acceptance day" when all preparations should be in place and mechanisms in place. The panel looks into the engine room of preparations for the implementation of the DSA: How are regulators preparing for the tasks ahead? What challenges does the jurisdiction face? What protection gaps exist for civil society? But above all, what relevance is being given to the special role of the media?
