Your voice is missing in journalism!

In order to achieve diversity in journalism, a diverse editorial staff and selection of topics is essential. German society offers a great deal of diversity in terms of socioeconomic status, political worldview and topics such as the experience of the fall of communism and the post-reunification period. This diversity should be reflected to the same extent in journalistic editorial teams. After all, the view of topics and the attitude toward current debates are influenced by individual experiences. What is the editorial need for underrepresented voices? What opportunities are there to bring more diversity into newsrooms? What benefits might such diversity have for journalism and society as a whole? And the question of how to recruit new journalists opens up room for creative approaches, as MABB's 'Voices of Brandenburg' project shows.
