Juliane Leopold

Juliane Leopold was born in Halle/Saale in 1983 and studied journalism and film studies at the Free University of Berlin.
She then worked in management positions at NZZ, among others. At ZEIT.de, she established the social media desk from 2012 to 2014, and in 2013 she was one of the founders of the feminist blog Kleinerdrei.
In 2014, she established the German editorial team at BuzzFeed as editor-in-chief. After working as a freelance consultant, lecturer, and speaker, she took over as editor-in-chief of tagesschau.de in July 2018 and represents ARD's largest news site in various ARD rounds. She has been editor-in-chief of digital media at ARD-aktuell since 2019. She speaks at German and international media conferences on the topics of digital journalism, user-centered product development, and digital strategy.
