#UseTheNews! How News Reaches Generation Z?

Generation Z (Gen Z for short) between climate strike and TikTok. But the 18- to 24-year-olds not only have fun, they also want to inspire and change. At the same time, traditional news formats no longer reach them. They are no longer interested in news. Their opinion makers are influencers, friends, family. Why is that? That's what the #UseTheNews campaign investigated. According to the nationwide study, Gen Z doesn't think it's important to stay informed about news and current events. They no longer trust news, and their skepticism of traditional media is on the rise. #UseTheNews is therefore planning the "Year of the News" for 2024. The campaign aims in particular to address a key message of Gen Z, namely that journalistic news often lacks relevance to their personal everyday lives. In this exciting panel, you'll find out what ideas the #UseTheNews and #YearOfNews campaigns are approaching Gen Z with.
