How media profit from sustainability
In the media industry, sustainability means more than reporting on climate change or the energy transition. Above all, living up to it means assuming journalistic responsibility. In other words, taking values such as credibility and program quality seriously. The members of the Sustainability Pact Media Bavaria show how media can be successful in the long term. Together with the Bavarian Regulatory Authority for Commercial Broadcasting (BLM), the pact partners Amazon Prime, Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), ego fm and ProSiebenSat.1 have announced the Media Bavaria Sustainability Award. It will be awarded for the first time at Medientage München as part of the panel. Why is sustainability more important than ever in the media industry? BR Director and jury member Dr. Katja Wildermuth will address this question after BLM President Dr. Thorsten Schmiege reports on the progress of the pact so far. The winning project will show how media benefit from sustainability and thus provide impetus for the round of talks with jury members about the future of sustainability in the media.
