Warner Bros Discovery | Meet Our Partners @MTM22

How do you and your company contribute to the relevance and quality of the media?

Warner Bros. Discovery is one of the most differentiated media and entertainment companies in the world. With our brands and content, we reach every target group and every viewer. Whether with high-quality real-life entertainment content on DMAX, TLC or HOME & GARDEN TV, sports highlights from Eurosport, gripping series and movies on TELE 5 and WarnerTV, or for the younger generation on Cartoon Network: our ambition is to be present across all distribution ways, in free and pay TV, or as with discovery+ in the digital area and on all platforms. We pay particular attention to reporting close to current events and on topics that are of acute concern to people, as is currently the case with “72 – Die Münchner Spiele” on discovery+. Our content is loved and celebrated by fans and critics around the world. With 48 awards at the recent Emmy Awards, Warner Bros. Discovery is at the top of the rankings. And our local content is also getting appropriate attention: the WarnerTV co-produced series “Oh Hell” won the German Television Award for Best Comedy Series.

Which socio-political debates and which technological developments affect you the most at the moment?

After intense years of pandemic, all companies discussed how teamwork should look like in the future. At Warner Bros. Discovery, we found a pragmatic solution: Our centrally located offices are ideally equipped for our hybrid model of home office and office. But regardless of where you work: The world of work is changing and companies with employees are reorienting themselves in order to remain successful.
After all, creativity is needed for the best results, and this comes from diversity. Warner Bros. Discovery stands for equality, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe that the most innovative ideas and solutions come from the broadest possible spectrum of thought and perspective – and also inform our storytelling, content and making of many of our shows. Our programming proves this every day. This also means that we are constantly faced with the exciting challenge of combining classic media use in the cinema or TV with digital platforms in a meaningful way in an increasingly digitalized world, thus offering viewers the best entertainment.

What will you present with your company at the #MTM22?

With Warner Bros. Discovery, we are currently rebuilding a next-generation media company. In the process, we are reviewing the entire value chain and also rethinking the topic of content exploitation with new, innovative approaches. Hannes Heyelmann, EVP & General Manager Warner Bros. Discovery GAS, will talk about this and many other things that are currently occupying us as a company at the TV Summit on Wednesday, October 19 at 10:00.
Visitors will get a first impression of our comprehensive portfolio even before they enter the Media Days: with our large-scale branding on and around the entrance doors of the ICM at Messe München, we will show the complete diversity of our brands. In addition, we will be present as a host sponsor at the Nacht der Medien, and look forward to meeting many familiar as well as new faces there.
