Künstliche Intelligenz

Green Stage

Artificial intelligence – friend or foe of the publishing industry?

Efficiency gain or loss of quality? Relief or redundancy for employees? In hardly any other sector are the opportunities and risks of AI being discussed as intensively as in the media industry. Generative AI in particular is creating a new market dynamic: it can be used to create personalised content for users or to automate and speed up processes such as content creation, text translation or data analysis. On the other hand, AI can lead to certain groups of users or topics being favoured, which can lead to distortions in reporting. AI algorithms can also be complex and difficult to understand, which can lead to a lack of transparency and trust issues.

Where do publishers stand with the use of artificial intelligence? Is AI already an integral part of the corporate strategy? In which areas is AI being used? How can it be ensured that AI is used responsibly? How can the opportunities of AI be exploited and its risks minimised? In our panel, we will discuss these questions based on concrete experiences and use cases from publishing practice.
