Karsten Samland heads the Publisher Management team at TikTok Germany. Together with his team, he supports a wide range of companies in bringing their content to TikTok and thus inspiring the community of the leading platform for short videos. Entertainment, sports, lifestyle, books, news and gaming are among the core areas of Karsten's team. Karsten witnessed TikTok's breakthrough in Germany first-hand when he joined the company in 2019 as one of the first employees in the strategic partnerships department. Most recently, as Head of Entertainment, he was responsible for the growth of the entertainment industry and helped TV broadcasters, celebrities and major creators to achieve success on TikTok. Media and publishers can benefit from Karsten's ten years of experience in journalism. Before TikTok, Karsten worked as a journalist. Among other things, he worked as a reporter for the German branch of ‘BuzzFeed’ and ‘BuzzFeed News’. The trained editor also completed a traineeship at Hessischer Rundfunk and has worked for various public broadcasters.
