Verena Nierle

Verena Nierle helped set up BR Recherche, Bayerischer Rundfunk's investigative unit, in 2016 and is now head of the BR Recherche/BR Data editorial team. The Investigative and Data team works closely with BR's AI Automation Lab. The teams' work has won numerous awards. Verena Nierle is also a trainer for investigative research, including for the trainees at Bayerischer Rundfunk. Previously, she worked as an editor for the political magazine Kontrovers and for special current affairs programs on BR television. From 2001 to 2003 she was a trainee at BR. Before that, she studied modern history and French in Munich and Paris.
