
Christoph Schwennicke

Christoph Schwennicke (* March 20, 1966 in Bonn)) is Head of Politics and Member of the Editorial Board at t-online. Previously, he was one of the managing directors of the exploitation company Corint Media from May 2021 to March 2023. From 2012 to 2021, he was editor-in-chief of the political magazine Cicero. From 2016 to 2021, he was also managing partner of Res Publica Verlag and publisher of Cicero and Monopol. Schwennicke grew up near Neu-Ulm. He attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and studied German, political science and journalism in Bamberg from 1987 to 1992. After graduating, he worked for several regional daily newspapers and SDR (radio) and from 1993 as editor, later Bonn correspondent, of the Badische Zeitung. In 1996 he moved to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, as correspondent of the parliamentary editorial office in Bonn, then in London. From 2005, he headed the parliamentary editorial department in Berlin before moving to Der Spiegel in October 2007, where he was deputy head of the capital city bureau from 2010. Also in 2010, his book "Das Glück am Haken: Der ewige Traum vom dicken Fisch" was published. In May 2012, Schwennicke replaced Michael Naumann as editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Cicero.
