
Markus Breitenecker

Markus Breitenecker (born 28 November 1968 in Vienna) has been a member of the Executive Board of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE since 1 April 2024 and, in his role as COO, is responsible for Strategy, M&A, Marketing, IT & AI, Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability. As COO, he is also responsible for the Seven.One Entertainment Group and Streaming, Platforms & Growth at Joyn.
After holding positions as CEO of ‘The Weather Channel’ in Düsseldorf and as Head of Sales and Public Media Policy at Kabel Eins in Munich, the Austrian media manager and trained lawyer has headed the ProSiebenSat.1 Group's business in Austria as CEO since 1998. During this time, he developed ProSiebenSat.1 PULS4 into the largest private television group and Joyn into the country's largest streamer. Under his responsibility, a family of channels was created alongside ProSieben Austria, including PULS 4, ATV, ATV2 and its own news channel PULS 24. In 2017, Breitenecker founded the streaming platform Zappn in Austria and integrated it into the super streamer Joyn last year. The renowned 4GameChangers festival in Vienna was also created under Markus Breitenecker's leadership and has been a fixture in Austria for years when it comes to innovation, media and future issues.
