Prof. Dr. phil. Sonja Kretzschmar

Prof. Dr. Sonja Kretzschmar studied journalism in Dortmund and Edinburgh and did a traineeship at the "Berliner Zeitung". After her doctorate, she worked as a researcher at the universities of Erfurt, Münster, Leipzig and Friedrichshafen. She worked as an editor at ARD-aktuell for several years, primarily in the Tagesthemen editorial department. In 2012, she was appointed professor at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and worked as vice dean and dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. Since 2021, she has headed the interdisciplinary dtec-bw project "Media for Peace" (M4P), which focuses on the potential of digitalisation for peacebuilding journalism on an international level.
