Gerd Weiner

Gerd Weiner is a business graduate, founder and managing director of B1 SmartTV GmbH. He has more than 25 years of experience in leading national and international functions in marketing & sales at companies such as Samsung, Loewe and Thomson. Since 2018, he has focused on the development of Smart TV solutions and the convergent networking of Smart TVs and other digital devices. Among other things, the passionate sportsman developed the sports aggregation and service platform "Sportworld", which is available in 190 countries worldwide on several 100 million Samsung Smart TVs as well as on Android and iOS smartphones. The platform has an electronic programme guide that aggregates 2,800 sports channels worldwide on the platform. In addition, "Sportworld" has streamed over 150 live sporting events using innovative broadcast technologies that provide fans with unique experiences through latency-free, additional camera perspectives and live data channels. Most recently, Gerd Weiner and his company, in collaboration with the European League of Football and Samsung, revolutionised live sports broadcasting for sports fans by introducing a 3D live video creator for personalised NFTs ("MyMOMENT") on the "Sportworld" platform.
