Lea Thies
Head of Günter Holland Journalistenschule, Augsburger Allgemeine
Lea Thies is head of the Günter Holland School of Journalism and looks after the next generation of journalists at Augsburger Allgemeine. In order to attract and retain new talent, she is constantly developing new formats and programmes.For example, the part-time Volo for parents. She developed and implemented a mental health concept for the editorial team at the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper. She completed a traineeship at the Deister- und Weserzeitung newspaper in her hometown of Hamelin, completed her Master's degree in Global Politics in London and worked as a reporter in various editorial offices for more than 20 years. For ten years, she was also responsible for the daily children's page Capito of the Augsburger Allgemeine. She has been an editorial coach since 2006 and is now also a lecturer at the University of Augsburg.
