Florian Meyer-Hawranek works in editorial management at PULS, the young content network of Bayerischer Rundfunk: He is chief strategist for PULS and radio commissioner for BR. At PULS, he is responsible for journalistic formats, orientation and entertainment content and their implementation on radio and TV and, above all, on the web - whether as a podcast, on TikTok, as a YouTube video or Insta-story. For Bayerischer Rundfunk, he has also been leading and coordinating the collaboration with funk, the content network of ARD and ZDF, since 2019 - including for the YouTube challenge "Das schaffst du nie," the Snapchat and Insta series "iam.justmyself" and "Die Frage." Before that, he directed the reportage series "Die Frage" for several years and helped produce and develop docu-podcasts like "Einfach machen" or the psychology podcast "Die Lösung." Before joining PULS, Meyer-Hawranek worked as a reporter and author for television, radio and print, including for the satirical-political weekly magazine quer on BR Fernsehen, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Deutschlandfunk, Zündfunk on Bayern2 and for Tagesschaum, WDR's 2013 federal election project. He graduated from the German School of Journalism, where he now teaches as a lecturer, and worked in Mexico and Colombia, among other places. Before that, he studied political science, economics and communications in Erlangen, Mexico City and Munich. Florian Meyer-Hawranek has received several awards for his journalistic work - including the Ludwig Erhard Prize, the Ernst Schneider Prize and the Coburg Media Prize. He was nominated for the Grimme Award in 2018, 2022 and 2023 for the YouTube reportage "Die Frage". His productions won the German Social Award, the Herbert Quandt Media Award and the Media Award for Educational Journalism, among others. Meyer-Hawranek is an alumnus of the Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists and the International Journalists Program (IJP) América Latina.
