Katrin Helmschrott

Katrin Helmschrott, a native of Berlin and passionate Brandenburger, has been the managing director of BB RADIO for 26 years. Under her leadership, BB RADIO became the "private No. 1" in Brandenburg. She integrated local studios into the program and focused on regionality with clear leadership. During the Corona crisis, she launched the largest supporter campaign in the station's history, the "BB RADIO-Schulterschluss," and provided 1,000,000 broadcast seconds for the economy. Katrin Helmschrott is Germany's longest-tenured radio general manager and has made BB RADIO a commercial success. Every day, 610,000 listeners tune in to the "private No. 1" in Brandenburg. Her passion for radio and her ability to make bold decisions make her an exception in the radio landscape. She emphasizes that for her, competence trumps gender and has nurtured many young talents. In addition to BB RADIO, she founded IR MediaAd, a marketing company for private radio stations, and took over Radio TEDDY "The Family Radio for the whole day", a 24-hour full program that proved to be a commercial success despite initial skepticism. Her impressive achievements were recognized in 2020 with the Order of Merit of the State of Brandenburg.
