Alessandro Alviani is Lead Generative AI at Süddeutsche Zeitung Digitale Medien. He has a background in journalism and focuses on developing AI-powered products, tools, and narrative formats. Previously, he was Product Lead for AI at Ippen Digital and before that Editorial Director for Microsoft News in Berlin. Since 2020, he has been working at the intersection of AI and media. As a JournalismAI Fellow in 2022, he was involved in developing a tool and methodology that helps journalists identify and track manipulated narratives in state-controlled media.
