Yasmine M’Barek

Yasmine M’Barek is a journalist and author. She graduated from the Cologne School of Journalism for Politics and Economics and works as an editor and writer at Die ZEIT. In 2020, Medium Magazin named her one of the “Top 30 under 30” journalists. Her book Radikale Kompromisse (Hoffmann und Campe) was published in March 2022, followed by her essay Protest – On the Effectiveness and Risks of Civil Disobedience (Leykam) in September 2023.
Yasmine is a regular guest on political TV talk shows and hosts the ZEIT podcast Ehrlich jetzt?, where she interviews leading German politicians. Together with Spiegel journalist Markus Feldenkirchen, she co-hosts the weekly news podcast Apokalypse & Filterkaffee every Tuesday.
Her new essay collection I feel you – On Empathy will be published in September 2025 by Eichborn.
