Max Wiedemann is co-founder of LEONINE Studios and, as Managing Director of LEONINE Holding and Chief Production Officer, he oversees the group’s entire fiction production together with his business partner Quirin Berg. As Chief Business Development Officer, he is also responsible for the development and integration of new business areas, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence. As Head of Artificial Intelligence, he leads the global AI activities of the MEDIAWAN Group. Max Wiedemann studied production and media management from 1999 to 2003 at the University of Television and Film Munich. In 2003, he founded Wiedemann & Berg Film together with Quirin Berg, followed by W&B Television in 2010. As its Managing Director, shareholder, and executive producer, he has since been responsible for more than 160 cinema and television productions. These include the Oscar®-winning THE LIVES OF OTHERS, the two-time Oscar®-nominated NEVER LOOK AWAY, as well as numerous German box office hits such as WELCOME TO GERMANY and THE THREE INVESTIGATORS. In addition, Max Wiedemann has delivered highly acclaimed productions for international streaming platforms, including the first German Netflix Original series DARK, which was named the “Greatest Netflix Original Series” by Rotten Tomatoes, the cult series 4 BLOCKS (Warner TV Serie), the Sky original PAGAN PEAK, as well as the #1 Netflix hits BRICK and FALL FOR ME. Currently, the U.S. remake of the German box office hit WEEKEND REBELS is in preparation, produced by Apple Studios with Plan B and The SpringHill Company, in collaboration with Wiedemann & Berg Film. Attached to star in the lead roles are Mark Wahlberg and Vera Farmiga with Stephen Chbosky writing and directing. Max Wiedemann has been recognized with numerous professional honors, including the European Film Award, British Academy Film Award, German Film Award, and the Bavarian Film Prize, German Television Prize, Bavarian Television Award, LA Critics Award, Golden Camera, and the Bambi. He is also an active member of the German Film Academy, the European Film Academy, and the British Film Academy.
