Max Wiedemann

Max Wiedemann is Co-Founder of LEONINE Studios. As Managing Director of LEONINE Holding and Chief Production Officer, he leads the group’s entire fiction production alongside his business partner, Quirin Berg. Additionally, in his role as Chief Business Development Officer, he is responsible for the development and integration of new business areas, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence. As Head of Artificial Intelligence, he also spearheads the global AI activities of the MEDIAWAN Group. From 1999 to 2003, Max Wiedemann studied Production and Media Management at the University of Television and Film (HFF) Munich. In 2003, he co-founded Wiedemann & Berg Film with Quirin Berg, followed by the launch of W&B Television in 2010. Since then, as Managing Director, shareholder, and producer, he has been responsible for more than 160 film and television productions. These include the Academy Award®-winning feature film THE LIVES OF OTHERS, the twice Academy Award®-nominated NEVER LOOK AWAY, as well as several German box-office hits such as NIGHTLIFE, WELCOME TO GERMANY, and THE THREE INVESTIGATORS. Furthermore, Max Wiedemann has realized highly acclaimed productions for international streaming platforms, including the first German Netflix Original series DARK—which was voted the "Greatest Netflix Original Series" by Rotten Tomatoes—the cult series 4 BLOCKS (Warner TV Serie), the Sky Original PAGAN PEAK, and the No. 1 Netflix hits BRICK and FALL FOR ME. Currently, the US remake of the German box-office hit WEEKEND REBELS is in preparation. It is being produced by Apple Studios in collaboration with Plan B, The SpringHill Company, and Wiedemann & Berg Film, starring Mark Wahlberg and Vera Farmiga, with Stephen Chbosky writing and directing. Max Wiedemann has been honored with numerous prestigious awards, including the European Film Award, the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA), the German Film Prize, the Bavarian Film Prize, the German Television Prize, the Bavarian Television Prize, the LA Critics Award, the Golden Camera, and the Bambi. He is a member of the German Film Academy, the European Film Academy, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
