Silke Burmester

Silke Burmester has worked for around 25 years as a freelance journalist on the topics of media and social policy. Among others, she has worked for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Zeit, taz and Financial Times Deutschland. As a columnist for Spiegel Online, taz, Manager Magazin and Deutschlandfunk, among others, she has shed light on a wide variety of topics in an entertaining manner - and has won several awards. In the fall of 2020, Silke Burmester founded Palais F*luxx for women aged 47 and older, "online magazine for intoxication, revolt, menopause." For the Berlinale 2023, together with actress Gesine Cukrowski, the campaign "Let's Change The Picture" was initiated, whose demand for a contemporary age image of women in film and television has already been joined by over 500 people, mainly from the film and television industry. Silke Burmester has written three books, most recently the Spiegel bestseller, "My Child is Growing Up, and What Will I Be?" She also moderates panels and events, coaches journalists and employees from PR departments in creative writing, and enjoys being on stage as a speaker.
