Aline Abboud

Aline Abboud was born in East Berlin in 1988. She studied Arabic studies in Leipzig, Beirut and Istanbul. From 2016 on, she was editor of the news program "heute" at ZDF and also hosted "heuteXpress". In 2018, she took over as an on-air reporter for the "foreign service" section of "auslandsjournal," and in 2019, she moderated the funk format "DIE DA OBEN!" For arte, she produced the documentary "Und jetzt Wir" ("And now We"), in which she explored the question of what moves youth protest culture in Europe. Since September 2021, she has been part of the moderation team of ARD's "tagesthemen" and "tagesschau24".
