Prof. Dr. Stephan Ory

Prof. Dr. Stephan Ory has been admitted to the bar since 1988. He is a founding member, chairman and, since July 2014, director of the Institute for European Media Law, as well as a founding member and board member of the Institute for Procedural Law in Electronic Legal Transactions e.V. Until September 2020, he was chairman of the EDV-Gerichtstag. He is a member of the Study Group for Press Law and Freedom of the Press. A lecturer since 2001, he was appointed honorary professor for broadcasting law and copyright by Saarland University in 2009. As part of his work as a lawyer, Ory was Managing Director of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Privater Rundfunk from 1990 to 2023. Ory has been a member of the Media Council of the Saarland State Media Authority (LMS) since February 2002, and has been its chairman since February 1, 2005.
