Video verification in the age of deepfakes

In an era when AI-powered computer imagery can generate entirely synthetic videos, how can journalists hope to tell the real from the fake? Reuters set out to answer this question by conducting a unique newsroom experiment: we created our own deepfake to put our verification workflow to the test. This session will summarise what we learnt – and how we might best get ready for this potential next wave of video “fake news”.
