Veronica Ferres most recently captivated audiences as the female lead opposite Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson in the feature film The Unholy Trinity, which enjoyed a wide theatrical release and earned her outstanding reviews.

Within the past year, she has also starred in the much-anticipated remake of the Marvel comic classic Red Sonja, the Netflix series Kacken an der Havel, Season 2 of her original Warner Bros. crime series Alpentod/Death in the Mountains, and the highly successful Disney+ remake of Call My Agent!, directed by Laura Lackmann. For the latter, she was nominated for the Jupiter Award in January 2026.

Ferres began her career in the Academy Award– and Golden Globe–nominated film Schtonk! and quickly established herself as one of Germany’s most acclaimed actresses. She has since been honored with the Grimme-Preis in Gold, the Goldene Kamera, two Bambi Awards, and numerous international prizes recognizing both her versatility and the depth of her performances. In 2025, she received the award for Best Actress at the Romy Awards, the Austrian Academy Awards for the first season of her Warner Bros. show Alpentod/Death in the Mountains.

Her body of work spans the full spectrum from comedy to high drama. Highlights include Werner Herzog’s Salt and Fire opposite Michael Shannon, Crisis with Gary Oldman (directed by Nicholas Jarecki), Hector and the Search for Happiness alongside Simon Pegg and Toni Collette, Casanova Variations with John Malkovich, and the Emmy-nominated limited series Die Manns. More recently, she received rave reviews for her performance in Tatort: Königinnen, one of the highest-rated primetime broadcasts in German TV history, watched by nearly one-third of the national audience. Her hit series Murder Sisters broke viewing records, while her streaming production about the Pied Piper of Hamelin, which premiered in January 2025 on ZDFneo, became one of the channel’s most successful shows. Her feature film Andere Eltern, adapted from the successful streaming series, aired on ZDF with similar success. Audiences can also currently see her in the Netflix series El Turco.

In recognition of her extraordinary career, Ferres was recently awarded the Bayerischer Filmpreis for lifetime achievement, the highest honor in the German film industry. Today, she remains one of Germany’s most celebrated and beloved household names.

Veronica also has an impressive resume as a producer. With her company Construction Films, some of the projects she has produced are Gus Van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire which premiered in January 2026; The Unforgivable starring Sandra Bullock (one of Netflix’s most successful features to date) and The Weight, starring Russell Crowe and Ethan Hawke, which premiered at Sundance as well as the Berlin International Film Festival in 2026.
