Pia Strietmann
Director
Pia is an award-winning director and writer whose films and television work have received national and international acclaim. She studied directing at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF München). Her debut feature, A Family of Three (Tage die bleiben), won several international awards. The comedy feature Endlich Witwer earned her the Bayerischer Fernsehpreis in 2021. She went on to direct the acclaimed series Blaumacher and the 50th-anniversary episode of Germany’s iconic Tatort. Herrhausen – The Banker and The Bomb, became one of Germany’s most celebrated dramas, winning Best Series at the Munich International Film Festival, Best Screenplay at Series Mania in France, and completing her sweep of Germany’s top television honors with the Grimme-Preis, the Deutscher Fernsehpreis, and the Bayerischer Fernsehpreis in 2025. She is currently in post-production on Prisoner, a Sky UK drama series created by Oscar-nominated writer Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies).
