Dr. Mathias Wierth
Managing Director, mindline media
Dr. Mathias Wierth is Managing Director of the media research institute mindline media, which was founded in Berlin in October 2007 and is the specialist for media and communication research within the mindline Group. He studied education, sociology and psychology in Marburg a.d. Lahn, specializing in media education, youth and reception research and research methods. He then worked as Head of Program Planning and Research at MTV & VIVA and Director Research & Insights at Viacom International Media Networks and was responsible for research activities in Northern Europe. In particular, the individual and social appropriation of media content before, during and after reception have been the main areas of his interest since his dissertation - in all facets (format-, advertising-, distribution-, planning-related). In addition to his full-time work at mindline media, he has held teaching positions (e.g. at the Film University Babelsberg for audience research, at the Steinbeis University for qualitative research methods).
