Gerda Hasselfeldt

Gerda Hasselfeldt has been Chairwoman of the ZDF Television Council since July 5, 2024. The Television Council (60 members) sets the guidelines for ZDF's programming, monitors compliance with these guidelines and advises the Director General on programming. The members of the Television Council come from different areas of society and represent the pluralistic social order of the Federal Republic of Germany. Gerda Hasselfeldt, born on July 7, 1950 in Straubing, was Federal Minister for Regional Planning, Building and Urban Development from 1989 to 1991 and Federal Minister for Health from 1991 to 1992. From 2005 to 2011, she held the office of Vice President of the German Bundestag, of which she was a member from 1987 until the Bundestag elections in the fall of 2017. Most recently, the economics graduate was Chairwoman of the CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag. She has been President of the German Red Cross since 01.12.2017.
