Ella Schindler came to Germany with her family at the age of 16. She studied social pedagogy in Nuremberg and then worked with people with disabilities in England. She started her career in journalism in 2004 with a traineeship at the Nürnberger Presse publishing house. After several positions in various editorial offices, she has been responsible for trainee journalists at the publishing house since fall 2020. She is also responsible for editorial internships. As a lecturer on the “Technical Journalism and Technical PR” course at Nuremberg Institute of Technology, she also aims to inspire and attract young people to journalism. In addition to promoting young talent, diversity in journalism is a topic that the 48-year-old is strongly committed to, including as co-chair of the New German Media Makers. In March 2024, Ella Schindler was awarded the Women's Prize of the City of Nuremberg for her many years of commitment to an equal and diverse society.
