Dirk von Gehlen

Dirk von Gehlen is an author, journalist and speaker. The graduate journalist works for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He was initially head of the editorial team at jetzt.de. In the meantime, he was responsible for innovation and social media and developed the Süddeutsche Zeitung Langstrecke magazine and the Minute Marathon newsletter, among other things. He is now ‘Director Think Tank’ at the SZ-Institut. In his books, he deals with the popular cultural phenomena of the present day: mashups, versions, meta, memes, the shruggie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and much more. He has also written running books, an instruction manual for the internet and a guide to being uncreative.
