Otto Steiner
Founder & CEO, Constantin Entertainment
Otto Steiner is the founder and CEO of Constantin Entertainment GmbH.
He is one of Germany's top entertainment producers and has been producing successful formats for all streamers and TV stations for over 25 years.
After studying at the University of Television and Film Munich, Otto Steiner initially worked as an executive producer at Action Games, a subsidiary of Bavaria Film GmbH.
From 1994 to 2000, he was Head of Entertainment at Tresor TV. As a producer and chief producer, Steiner was responsible for formats such as “Darüber lacht die Welt” (Sat.1), “Vorsicht Kamera” (Sat.1), and “Popstars” (ProSieben).
Together with Fred Kogel and Ulrich Brock, he founded Kirch Media Entertainment in 2001, which became Constantin Entertainment three years later. Together with Onno Müller and Marion Schlee, he continues to run the company, which has over 500 employees in Germany and Poland.
Over the past 25 years, Otto Steiner has been responsible for numerous successful formats, such as “Last one Laughing,” “Kaulitz & Kaulitz,” “Shopping Queen,” “Das Strafgericht,” “Genial Daneben,” and “Tödliches Spiel – das Live-Krimi Dinner.”
He has won four German Television Awards, three German Comedy Awards, the Grimme Prize, and the Romy Award for his formats. He has also been nominated for the German Comedy Award 25 times to date. He is a member of the jury for the International Emmy Awards and was himself nominated for an Emmy in 2022 for “Last One Laughing.”
