Elisabeth Gamperl works at the intersection of technology, journalism, and product development—with the goal of making content accessible in new and innovative ways. She recently joined dpa as product manager for new editorial offerings. Prior to that, she worked for ten years at Süddeutsche Zeitung, where she was jointly responsible for the use of AI in journalism and introduced automated summaries and interactive election bots, among other things. In 2021, she was a fellow at the Reuters Institute in Oxford, where she researched data-driven work in newsrooms. She studied cultural and social anthropology and learned her journalistic craft at the Austrian monthly magazine Datum and the investigative platform Dossier.at.
