Dr. Roland L. Klaes

Roland Klaes studied law in Bayreuth and Munich and earned his doctorate in broadcasting law under Prof. Dr. Peter Badura in Munich. He then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of St. Gallen. He gained extensive legal experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as well as copyright and media law, with a focus on contract drafting. Since 2009, he has been head of the legal editorial department at the C.H.Beck publishing house, where he is responsible for key areas of commercial law. He played a key role in the acquisition of C.H.Beck's stake in Noxtua AG (formerly Xayn AG), where he was appointed chairman of the supervisory board in April 2025. Roland Klaes has been a member of the management board of the C.H.Beck publishing house since October 1, 2025.
