Teelke Uffen

Award Winner, Norddeutscher Rundfunk

After training as a media designer for image and sound and subsequently studying media technology at HAW Hamburg, Teelke Uffen specialized in audio technology and audio production and now works at the interface between technical precision and creative sound design. While working on scenic productions, she became aware of the challenges posed by the individualization of the Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF): a process that has so far been associated with high time expenditure, considerable costs, and specialized technical equipment. Building on this, she developed a prototype model that enables users to create an individualized HRTF with their smartphone, allowing them to immerse themselves even more deeply in scenic audio content. Since April 2024, she has been working at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) in the Studio and Live Production Sound (SLP-T) department.
