Lisa Mühl

Researcher, INTITEC Research Group, Universität Duisburg Essen

Lisa Mühl is an interdisciplinary researcher on intimacy in the age of AI. She explores how intimacy arises in interactions with LLM companions such as ChatGPT and what role self-disclosure, personalization, and system characteristics play. In psychological studies, she examines the practical implementation of legal labeling requirements and privacy-by-design mechanisms in accordance with the EU AI Act. Her research is part of SENTIMENT, an interdisciplinary project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education, Research, Technology, and Space that brings together psychology, law, computer science, and art to explore intimate communication with AI systems.
