Sebastian Esser is a journalist and entrepreneur based in Berlin. He founded the magazine Krautreporter and is the founder and CEO of Steady, Europe’s leading platform for independent media creators. Steady supports more than 2,000 publishers and creators across Europe in earning money from their content. The venture-backed technology company has already paid out over 40 million euros to independent media such as newsletters, podcasts, and websites. Krautreporter stands for independent journalism that actively involves its members in the reporting process. The magazine (“Understand the connections”) now has more than 15,000 members and is run as a cooperative.
