Dr. Pop (born Markus Henrik on July 1, 1982 in Essen) is a German music cabaret artist, stand-up comedian, presenter, author and musicologist. He lives in Berlin. He has gained fame through his own television show on Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, appearances in cabaret and comedy television shows, his weekly radio column Dr. Pop's Sound Studio on radioeins and books such as Dr. Pop's Musical Consultation Hour. Dr. Pop's work is characterized by analyses and satires of music-related phenomena in culture and society as well as pop music works and performers, which are then presented in the form of satirical columns, songs and videos. Central to his work is also the demonstration of the positive effects of music on the health of the individual and society as a whole.
