Dr. Michael Rombach

Michael Rombach was born in Stegen in the Black Forest in 1967. He studied physics at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg and completed his doctorate at the University of Karlsruhe in 1995. From 1995 to 1998, Michael Rombach worked as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials in Freiburg. From 1999, he held various management positions at SWR, including Deputy Production Director and Head of the SWR Structural Commission in the Production and Technology Directorate at SWR Baden-Baden. From 2007 to 2018, Michael Rombach was Production Director at NDR in Hamburg and was also Chairman of the ARD Production and Technology Commission from 2013 to 2015. Michael Rombach has been Production Director of ZDF since January 1, 2019.
