Florian Hager
ARD Chairman / Director General, Hessischer Rundfunk
Florian Hager, born on April 17, 1976 in Aalen, studied media technology, computer science and multimedia at the Stuttgart Media University as well as journalism and film studies in Paris and Mainz. He worked as an advisor to the President of Arte and the Director of European Satellite Programs at ZDF. Hager was subsequently Deputy Program Director and Head of Program Planning TV and Web at Arte in Strasbourg. In 2015, Hager became founding managing director of funk, the youth program of ARD and ZDF. In 2020, he became Deputy ARD Program Director and was responsible for the content development of the ARD Mediathek. He has been Director General of Hessischer Rundfunk since March 1, 2022, and has also been ARD Chairman since January 1, 2025.
