The New Media Formula

Today, TikTok trends are influencing TV formats, creators are leading prime-time shows and production companies are developing new material directly for social media and based on current TikTok trends - the creator economy is radically changing the video landscape and the boundaries between traditional media production and creator-driven content are becoming increasingly blurred. But the interest is not a one-way street: while TV broadcasters and streaming platforms are increasingly relying on the reach and authenticity of creators and adapting the narrative forms in TV and streaming, many creators are consciously looking to move into traditional formats - be it because of larger budgets, new target groups or long-term career prospects.
What does this mutual convergence mean for program planning, format development and production processes? How do role patterns, rights negotiations and editorial responsibility change when influencers become hosts, co-producers or even idea generators?
Together, we will discuss opportunities, frictions - and the future of a market in which likes, line-ups and linear television are merging.
