How Much Sustainability Can Media Companies Afford?

Sustainability Media Award 2025

The Media Sustainability Pact is constantly evolving. For the third time, the nationwide Media Sustainability Award will be presented at the Medientage München in 2025 to media professionals who live up to their journalistic responsibility and implement it in concrete projects. Has the perception of this responsibility as a sign of sustainable thinking and action now become an obligation rather than a choice? How much sustainability can media companies afford today? And what opportunities does the media industry have to make sustainability visible? The panelists will attempt to answer these questions. To kick things off, Dr. Martin Hellwig from the Institute for Sustainability Education will explain in his keynote speech how journalistic responsibility can be taken seriously in concrete terms. Further practical examples will be provided by the media professionals nominated for the award.
