How news literacy strengthens trust in the media
Fewer and fewer people in Germany are interested in news and politics. Many of them distrust the media and at the same time know little about how they work and how news is created in the first place.
How can we counteract news fatigue, especially among young people, and strengthen trust in the media? The keynote speech will be given by Alexander Sängerlaub, Director of futur eins, who is working on the topic of a resilient information society. Leonhard Ottinger from the RTL School of Journalism and Judith Schönicke from the BR Media Competence Projects will present successful projects to promote news literacy. They will present examples from ARD and the private media landscape. The success of such projects will then be discussed with Lars Gräßer from the Grimme Institute and the audience.
The panel will be moderated by Minusch Afonso, host of Bayerischer Rundfunk's News-WG on Instagram.
